CASA Kane County announces new board members
CASA Kane County, a nonprofit organization that advocates for the best interests of abused and neglected children, announces four new members to the board of directors.
Tom Berliner, director of the MBA program for the Dunham School of Business at Aurora University, has extensive experience in management consulting, primarily in change management, strategic leadership and team excellence. Berliner learned about the CASA program from one of his MBA students.
"Abused and neglected children are among the most vulnerable and least represented. I'm hoping to support the individuals who are making a difference for these children," Berliner said.
Mike Frasier, owner of The Wine Exchange, spent 25 years with Sears and has worked with two national advertising agencies gaining regional management expertise in human resources, operations, and advertising. Frasier believes in CASA's mission to ensure the best interests of the child and believes that all children should receive the highest quality of support from their community.
Terry Emmel, vice president and general manager of FONA International Inc., will use his leadership and business relationships to help drive the agency's resource development. Emmel learned about CASA from his friend, Tom Berliner. "I decided I wanted to be involved in a program that helped to provide a positive future for these children," Emmel said.
Michael Yanatov, retired from Richards-Wilcox Inc. and a CASA volunteer since 2005, knows volunteers play a direct and meaningful role in a child's life. He stated, "For 20 years CASA has played a critical and vital role in the countywide effort to address the problems of abused and neglected children, I am very proud to be able to be part of this outstanding organization and to continue this mission."
