Reasons to doubt selection of Palin

I realize Sarah Palin apparently has many attributes attractive to Republicans, but given many facts now surfacing, is she really the person you Republicans want to represent you?

Here is what I'm talking about:

As mayor, she slashed funds to a transitional home for expectant teen moms and troubled youth by more than 20 percent, but raised the sales tax to build a hockey rink.

In 2006, she backed funding of "the bridge to nowhere." After her election as governor, she killed it but kept the federal funds that had been allotted.

As mayor, she hired a lobbyist to help direct nearly $27 million in pork barrel spending to her town of 8,000 people. McCain actually condemned this earmark at the time.

Among the $197 million she recently requested from Congress, $2 million of it is to study crab productivity in the Bering Sea.

Has vocally supported the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants a statewide vote to approve Alaska seceding from the U.S. and becoming its own country.

Recently told an Internet news agency that she doesn't think global warming is man made.

As mayor, strongly urged the banning of 90 books from the town library, including "Brave New World," "Canterbury Tales," "East of Eden," the Harry Potter books, "Tom Sawyer," "Huckleberry Finn," "My Friend Flicka," "Tarzan of the Apes","Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary" and last but not least, "Little Red Riding Hood."

All I have to say is, wow!
