Characterization of Foster unfair

Your Saturday Soapbox piece titled "Bill Foster, Mr. Liberal Too" (Aug. 30) highlights the political bias of the Daily Herald much more than it does U.S. Rep. Foster. Simply voting with the majority of Democrats does not mean the vote was not moderate or even conservative. If you had bothered to look closer at the Votes Database you would have found that 48 percent of the votes cast by Rep. Foster were in line with the majority of both Democrats and Republicans - a higher percentage than his votes with the Democrats against the majority of Republicans. If Rep. Foster is more liberal than the district, please let us know through factual reporting. Otherwise it is just a political smear.
