70-year-olds have much to offer

I am responding to a letter written by Len Lempa on Aug. 21 titled "McCain too old for presidency."

You, sir, have insulted hundreds of senior citizens living right in your area. Apparently you have not spent much time with people in their 70s and 80s.

You should visit us here in Del Webb Sun City in Huntley and look around. You will see people who are vital and active, playing tennis, bridge, pinochle and using computers, etc. We are not a group of people on the verge of dementia (and some of us still hold down a job.)

Neither is John McCain. He is an active individual as far as I can see. I would be proud to see him win the presidency. He has a lot to contribute to the role.
