Our once-great state needs some work
As I drive these deteriorating roadways of to days Illinois, I have to wonder about the people that were in office when these highways were built. Many of these highways were built in the '50s and '60s by people that wanted to make Illinois a great state with great roads. I wonder how, with the corruption and politics of today, if any of these roads would be built today? We waste so much money on cost overruns and graft, that I do not think this could be accomplished in today's world. I think that is a sad truth of today's Illinois. When are our politicians going to start working for the good of the people, and not the good of themselves? Then and only then will our once great state work again.
