No broken bones jockey after spill at Arlington
Veteran Arlington Park jockey Jesse Campbell, currently second in the track standings, did not suffer any fractures as a result of his spill in the Honor Glide Stakes race Saturday but remained hospitalized at Northwest Community Hospital Sunday morning pending the completion of further tests.
"Nothing is broken, but he's still in the hospital for additional testing," said Campbell's agent Dennis Cooper during Sunday training hours at Arlington. "He's still suffering neck and shoulder pain, and will undergo an MRI as well as some other tests before he is released."
Campbell, 30, who grew up in Lake Zurich, was transported to the hospital Saturday after his mount, Gangbuster, stumbled after clipping heels during the running of the Honor Glide Stakes and unseated the jockey.
