Elgin Area School District U-46 will hold a public hearing on the proposed 2009 budget at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at the Educational Services Center, 355 E. Chicago St., Elgin.

Radiography pre-admission exam at ECC

Elgin Community College's radiography program will hold a pre-admission exam at 10 a.m. Sept. 16 in Room 183 of the Health and Business Technology Center on the main campus, 1700 Spartan Drive, Elgin. The three-hour exam is required for entry to the radiography program and is a prerequisite for entry into the May 2009 class. Cost of the test is $20. Students must register and pay by Wednesday, Sept. 10.

Collect for Marklund

Marklund is seeking volunteers for McFry Days on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 12 and 13. Volunteers are needed to hand out coupons for McDonald's french fries in exchange for spare change. Marklund is a nonprofit network of services that helps infants, children and adults with severe developmental disabilities. Among other facilities, it runs its main campus at Mill Creek near Geneva and the Philip Center for Children in Bloomingdale.
