Hampshire falls to 0-2

For the second week in a row, Hampshire's football team fell behind and couldn't catch up, losing 21-13 at Winnebago in a nonconference game Friday night.

After a 3-yard run by Hampshire's Joe Moore tied the game at 7-7, Winnebago scored two unanswered touchdowns to take a 21-7 lead late in the fourth quarter. Hampshire (0-2) answered when Evan Brenner hit Bo Price with a 60-yard TD score and then the Whip-Purs got the ball back with two minutes to play, but couldn't score.

"It was kind of a carbon copy of last week," said Hampshire coach Dan Cavanuagh, whose team lost to St. Edward 15-7 in Week 1. "They ran the ball on us and we couldn't run the ball on them."
