Wheeling company acquired by Canadian firm
Creation Technologies, a global Electronic Manufacturing Services provider and expert in manufacturing complex electronic products, today announced it has acquired Circuit Service Inc. of Wheeling and its Chinese subsidiary, Changzhou CSI of Changzhou, China.
The acquisition extends Creation's footprint in the Central US region and the new Asian business unit expands Creation's "right-shore" manufacturing solutions to provide local, regional and global solutions to existing and future customers.
Completing its sixth acquisition in the past five years, Creation further solidifies its position among the top 15 EMS providers in North America.
"We are delighted to be welcoming the customers and people of Circuit Service Wheeling and Changzhou into the Creation family," said Arthur Tymos, president and chief executive officer of Creation Technologies. "A key element of Creation's commitment to excellence is broadening our North American and Asian footprint to support and grow our customer base. A Top-100 contract manufacturer, Circuit Service's similar service, technical capabilities, profit momentum and growth opportunities will only serve to enhance and reinforce our existing operations and customer offerings."
The Wheeling operation, now called Creation Technologies - Chicago, is the tenth Creation business unit. Employing more than 250 people, it has been providing EMS services to its customers in the Central and Eastern US since 1972. The people in the Wheeling facility will continue to report to James Herring, Circuit Service's current President and CEO.
The CCSI China facility, now called Creation Technologies - Changzhou, is Creation's 11th business unit. "This opens up a new growth market opportunity in Asia for Creation," said Tymos. "In addition, Changzhou will provide services to our North American customers who have products whose right-shore manufacturing needs fit an Asian model." The 60 people who work in the Changzhou facility will continue to report to Charles Ma, who remains its General Manager.
James Herring will also play a key role in ensuring a smooth transition for both the Chicago and Changzhou facilities over the coming months. "Circuit Service is delighted to become part of Creation Technologies," said Herring. "Our 35-year history of excellence closely matches that of Creation. Joining the Creation family will provide both our customers and our people with an even stronger foundation for future growth and success."
Creation Technologies serves businesses in the industrial controls, instrumentation, medical, wireless and other communications, safety and security, defense and transportation markets.
