Party-In-The-Park: 4:30-8 p.m. Sept. 5, Meridian Middle School, 2195 Brandywyn, Buffalo Grove. Music and dancing, carnival games, inflatables for children and food. Pancake Breakfast: 8-11:30 a.m. Sept. 6, Mundelein High School Cafeteria, 1350 W. Hawley St., Mundelein. Lady Mustangs basketball team pancake breakfast. $5 per person.

A Walk in the Park: Six Flags Friends and Cure Kids Cancer join forces to raise public awareness and funding for childhood cancers at this walk-a-thon at 8 a.m. Sept. 7. All proceeds will benefit the Cure Kids Cancer organization; all donations will go directly to local hospitals that help children with cancer in our community. A $25 registration fee per person includes breakfast, gift bag, Cure Kids Cancer souvenir wristband and entrance to a closing celebration. Individuals attending the walk also have the ability to buy discounted admission tickets to Six Flags Great America. Visit the Web site www.walkintheparks.org.

Historical Society Fall Festival: Noon to 5 p.m. Sept. 7, Deerfield Historic Village, Deerfield Road and Kipling Place. The 33rd annual Deerfield Area Historical Society Fall Festival. The free event will feature children's activities, live entertainment, food, historic building tours, craft demonstrations, a book and antique sale, and more. All profits from the Fall Festival will be used to help restore the buildings in the Historic Village. For more information, call (847) 948-0680.

The Lions Club of Grayslake steer roast: Noon-5 p.m. Sept. 7; Grayslake Middle School, 440 N. Barron Blvd. (Route 83). Prices: Adults $10; Seniors 62 and up $9; Children 5-11 $5; under 4 eat free. Carry outs are available. All proceeds stay in the community. There will be a 50/50 raffle prizes with a guarantee of $500 in total. Call (847) 223-5222

Bunco Night: Refreshments, 7 p.m., Bunco and club meeting, 7:30-9 p.m. Sept. 9, Civic Center, 135 W. Church St., Libertyville. The Libertyville Junior Women's Club Bunco Night to support local charity. Proceeds will support a local charity nominated by game participants.
