Chicago teen, once falsely accused, back in jail

A teenager who was wrongly accused as a 7-year-old in the murder of an 11-year-old girl is back in jail for violating probation for his roll in a 2006 double shooting.

Seventeen-year-old Romarr Gipson was ordered held without bond following his arrest Monday on charges of drug possession and aggravated assault with a dangerous weapon.

Gipson is accused pointing a BB gun at a female he was arguing with inside a residence. Assistant State's Attorney James Murphy-Aguilu said Tuesday the victim fled and notified police.

In 1998, Gipson and another boy, then 8, were accused in the death of Ryan Harris, making them the youngest murder suspects in the nation at the time.

DNA tests later led prosecutors to charge Floyd Durr, a convicted sex offender, who pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.
