Fire damages Long Grove Christmas shop

A fire of an undetermined cause Saturday damaged a Long Grove shop.

Firefighters called to the Pine Cone Christmas Ship, 210 Robert Parker Road about 8:40 p.m. found heavy fire showing from a second floor display window in the front of the building.

Firefighters from Palatine, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire/Riverwoods, Prospect Heights, Palatine rural, Wheeling, Lake Forest, Highwood, Wauconda, Deerfield, Barrington and Arlington Heights also responded and the fire was brought under control within minutes, according to the Long Grove Fire Protection District.

Fire damage was limited to a display window area and an interior storage room but smoke damage was present throughout the building. The building was unoccupied at the time. No injuries were reported.

No damage estimate was available, pending an investigation by the Long Grove Fire Protection District with the Office of the State Fire Marshal.
