Watson masters Lake Bluff GC
Jack Watson had a little Tom Watson in him Saturday, and maybe even a little Jack Nicklaus.
Watson fired a 2-under-par 70 at Lake Bluff Golf Club to tie Peter Marshall of host Lake Forest for medalist honors in the Lake Forest quad.
Carmel carded a 308 in finishing second to Lake Forest.
The runner-up Corsairs also received 79s from Billy White and Alex Pabich. John Kryzmarsick shot an 80.
Girls tennis
Carmel wins quad: The Corsairs defeated Bishop McNamara (6-0), Marist (4-1) and Fenwick (3-2).
Sophomore Jasmine Minor went 3-0 losing only one game. Carmel also got 3-0 efforts from the doubles team of Lauren Aguilar/Michelle Kunkler (No. 1) and Leah Einarsen/Morgan Boban (No. 4). Aguilar and Kunkler lost only 2 games.
Women's volleyball
CLC goes 1-4: The College of Lake County won only one match in the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater tournament, but it was against Alma, a four-year college.
CLC was led by Michelle Sims (20 kills, 16 digs, 6 aces); Melisa Ori (36 assists, 15 kills, 14 digs); Taylor Nobilio (16 kills, 12 digs); Mallory Purtha (12 kills, 8 digs, 6 assists); and Jenna Capps (31 digs).
