Lower taxes on rich to help rest of us
Let's reduce taxes on the rich! Everyone wants to be wealthy!
Take a survey and 9 out of 10 people will say they want to be rich. Why then do most politicians want to increase taxes on the rich?
It is economic nonsense. What do rich people do with their money? Well, for one, they might build a pretentious mansion. So what - who does that help? The carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters, that's who will put the house together as well as workers who make appliances, garage door openers, windows, doors, light fixtures, etc. - all of whom count on the rich to make their living.
What about the terribly rich who own giant yachts? I wonder who has employment doing their painting, electrical work and plumbing along with all those who make the high-end amenities that are inside the yacht. Then there is the crew to man the ship. What about those expensive cars the rich own? It's the same laborers who make them.
It is politically popular for politicians, especially the liberal Democrats, to rant about the rich and promise to raise their taxes ostensively to help the poor. In fact, this "soak the rich policy" harms the very ones it is aimed to please. The higher the taxes on the rich, the less homes, yachts and cars will be bought.
If we want to make more job opportunities and stimulate the economy, we should be reducing taxes on the rich! Over the years, reductions in taxes on the rich, capital gains and on dividends have resulted in increased economic activity, increased government revenue, and more real wealth for everyone. Let's not fall prey to more economic nonsense promoted by economic illiterates pandering for votes with economic pablum.
