The media's views of campaign firsts

Throughout the coverage of the Democrats gathering in Denver, the liberal media has made it abundantly clear with commentary and choice of film clips that Barack Obama is the first black American to run for president of the United States.

Next week in St. Paul, the Republicans will nominate John McCain as the first prisoner of war to run for president of the United States.

This will have little or no mention by the liberal media.

I'm just wondering. Did self-serving Harvard hierarchy increase strength of character as much as being a prisoner of war at the Hanoi Hilton?
