Girls Travel Softball: 10U: 1-2:30 p.m.; 12U: 2:30-4 p.m.; 14U: 4-5:30 p.m.; 16U: 5:30-7 p.m. Aug. 30, rain date Aug. 31, Aquatic Softball Field, 250 Library Lane, Grayslake. Rolling Thunder Volleyball tryouts: For ages 14-16, 6-8 p.m. Sept. 3 and 1-4 p.m. Sept. 7; for ages 17-18, 7:30-10 p.m. Sept. 3 and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 6, Kits SportsCenter, 325 Surryse, Lake Zurich. Adult Indoor Volleyball: Captain's meeting at 7 p.m. Sept. 3 at The Barn, 200 S. Rand Road, Lake Zurich. Games will be played at 6, 7, 8 or 9 p.m. Monday evenings at Lake Zurich Middle School North, 95 Hubbard Lane, Hawthorn Woods. Put together a team for eight weeks of volleyball with one week of playoffs, for ages 18 and up. There is a Women's League and a C-Rec League. Moonlight Golf: 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12, Deerfield Golf Club and Learning Center, 1201 Saunders, Riverwoods. Dinner, beverages, raffles, contests, an auction and five holes of golf under the stars for teams of up to six golfers ages 21 and up. Check-in, reception putting and chipping contests from 5:30-6:30 p.m., dinner at 6:45 p.m., orientation for golfers at 7:15 p.m. The outing runs from dark through about 10:30 p.m., followed by awarding of prizes, desserts, auctions and raffles. Libertyville Travel Baseball Tryouts: noon to 3 p.m. for third-graders and 3-6 p.m. for fourth-graders Sept. 14, Nicholas Dowden Park, 500 S. Dymond Road, Libertyville. Open to all children living in the Libertyville High School District. Arrive no later than 15 minutes before tryouts. Wear baseball pants, a baseball cap and athletic shoes or rubber baseball spikes (grades 7-8 may wear metal spikes). Bring a glove, bat and water bottle. Do nor wear LTB apparel.
