Folk metal band to perform at Pearl Room
Arguably the world's most popular folk metal band, Finntroll mixes humppa (or "Finnish polka") with accessible black metal for one of the most stein-swingingly fun live shows around. Support comes from tourmates Warbringer and Carnifex, as well as local threats Twelfth Gate, Withering Soul and Penchant 4 Chaos.

Dread Zeppelin
With such a singular initial concept (reggae-style Led Zeppelin covers with Elvis impersonator vocals), it's no wonder that Dread Zeppelin's occasional attempts to break out of their mold haven't gone over well with fans. The California group's latest self-released disc, "Bar Coda," includes signature renditions of "Celebration Day," "The Rover," "Out on the Tiles" and more.

Andrew Bird
Chicago treasure and violin virtuoso Bird creates elegant folk-pop not only with a full band, but by recording and looping his own playing in the live setting. He'll do a little of both for this free outdoor gig, which features hometown openers Occidental Brothers Dance Band International and a live simulcast on WXRT 93.1-FM.
