Why is it men who discuss abortion?
I must say that I am fed up with a man's point of view on the use of graphic photos of abortion or abortion in general (Fence Post, Aug. 23, "Graphic photos can stop abortions").
Let me be very clear as a woman: When I saw these photos on the corner of Route 12/22 early this summer, it ripped my heart out.
I could relate to what women feel and go through when that choice is made. It is not an easy choice.
But why is it always a man who comments on this subject? Is it the man who lives with this agonizing decision for the rest of his life? Is it the man who has this horrible procedure done, wondering every second if he is doing the right thing?
No, usually the man is the one encouraging the woman to have this done.
I don't think that they are thinking about the 18,000 families in Illinois who would love to adopt this child that they took part in the decision to abort.
