Gypsy moth concerns in Gurnee

Gurnee village board members Monday night agreed it would be a good idea to contain and control gypsy moths that are bothering trees in the Hickory Haven subdivision west of Route 21. At an informal committee meeting, the village board agreed to have Village Forester Jake Balmes continue working toward a helicopter spray application. Two treatments likely would occur in May and June 2009, Balmes said.
