Cab driver robbed by four men in Palatine

A taxi driver reported to Palatine police early Saturday morning that he was robbed of $500 by four men who asked him to drive them from Chicago to the 1400 block of Winsolwe Drive.

Around 4:50 a.m. Saturday, the driver told the four men the fare would be $81, but instead of paying, one man put his hand in his pocket, implying he had a gun, and demanded money. The driver tried to drive away, but another man then reached through the open passenger's-side window and took about $500 from the center console.

The cab driver pulled away, possibly hitting the leg or foot of one of the offenders, the report said..
