Why don't people try to help?
You can cross off, a community that cares, from the list! I now understand why people don't want to bring children into this world.
Let me explain. I saw a horrible sight on the side of Buffalo Grove Road. Someone's pet feline was hit and lay motionless on the side of the busy road.
Whoever hit this cat obviously couldn't care less.
The hundreds of cars that passed this sight and did nothing lack human compassion. I called the BG police number and reported what I saw: a motionless pet, well groomed, severely injured, possibly dead. They said an officer would check it out. They probably did.
An hour later on my return trip I was relieved to not see this calamity.
But then, probably traumatized by emotion, I realized I reported a location south of the railroad tracks and there to the north, I passed the gruesome scene again.
I called back to report the original erroneous sight and was told the public works would take care of the situation. Three hours later and still, there lies someone's pet cat on the side of the road. Imagine some child looking for their pet and finding this?
You'd think someone, anyone would give a damn, but no, people are too concerned with talking on their cell phones and speeding along, ignorant of helping others.
If you drove by this and did nothing, you should be ashamed of yourself. I'm not very proud but I felt someone should do something.
