Small crime leads to big crime

If our officials continue to ignore the auto break-ins and the GPS thefts, sooner or later the thugs move on to bigger scores. Now we have the armed robbery of small businesses and a home invasion. Shouldn't we be working hard to stop the smaller crimes before they escalate?
