Huntley seeking Metra stop

Motorists in the McHenry County village of Huntley say they're interested in extending Metra's Milwaukee District West Line from Elgin into their area.

Village leaders and the local planning commission plan a special joint meeting Monday to discuss possible Metra station locations and what kind of development might be built around the train station.

Village manager Dave Johnson says $4-a-gallon gas has prompted interest in the Metra line. He says the village has been in contact with Metra officials and that any extension would likely include the city of Marengo, about 12 miles to the northwest.
