Vote, beat Congress at 'gotcha game'
Whether you are a Democrat or Republican, it is time to be very angry with Congress. Extraordinarily high oil and gas prices are putting our economy, our jobs and world peace in great danger. Instead of reaching reasonable compromise as quickly as possible for the benefit of "we the people," our Congress is playing the "gotcha game" with each other to gain power for their political parties. And in the mean time, gas is at $4.50 a gallon and likely to go higher before the end of the year.
T. Boone Pickens said it best today as he testified about his new wind power energy solutions before Congress. "I am for everything that drives down oil prices except buying more foreign oil." That means drilling off shore, drilling in ANWR, wind power, solar power, nuclear power, liquefying coal, oil shale, etc. Anything to keep the money here in the United States and to keep our economy going. Leave it to a successful businessman to cut through the baloney and come up with a realistic solution. Something that Congress apparently just doesn't know how to do.
We desperately need more power today, next year and ten years from now. We need to exercise all of our options as safely, cleanly and rapidly as we can or there will be hell to pay. And we need to tell Congress to get off their butts and solve this, or it is time to kick them all out regardless of which party they are in. No wonder their approval rating is 9 percent!
