Painting party in Deer Park

World renowned artist Romero Britto kicks off his monthlong exhibit at the Deer Park Town Center with a painting party for kids today, Saturday, Aug. 23.

Britto will be painting alongside more than 100 children to create 10 large works of art. The art will be donated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society Greater Illinois Chapter.

Britto will be available to sign artwork and collectibles during the party. Britto, from Brazil, has 12 of his monumental sculptures on display at the Town Center through Sept. 14. The exhibit includes some of his most familiar images, including "Big Apple," "Dancing Boy" and "Azul."

Today's painting party is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
