Airlines help military personnel
United Airlines Friday said it would provide complimentary access to its planes' Economy Plus seating area and the ability to check up to three bags free of charge for military personnel.
Military personnel traveling in uniform on active orders will be entitled to complimentary, space available access to Economy Plus when at the airport and traveling domestically and internationally. Economy Plus offers up to five extra inches of legroom at the front of the economy cabin.
Also AirTran Airways, Delta Air Lines and Northwest Airlines said Friday they were waiving all or most of their baggage fees for active members of the U.S. military on official travel.
Earlier this week, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air began waiving their fee to check a third bag for active service members.
