Back to basics on homeownership

"Rescuing an ailing housing market is good for votes in an election year."

Not my vote, and I hope the votes of all of us who bought our homes the old fashioned, responsible way, as most people I know did.

We bought within our means, not a McMansion to impress anyone or one up anyone.

I'm glad Congress has decided to help its own for a change, but money spent bailing out irresponsible homeowners and lenders is money that should be spent somewhere else to help those truly in need.
