Chessie's changing name:

A longtime Barrington staple is getting a bit of a makeover. Chessie's Restaurant, located in the Ice House Mall for more than 20 years, has been sold to new owners. On Thursday, an official at the restaurant said over the next few weeks the restaurant will be changing names. The restaurant will now be called 111 Grill, however it is keeping about 90 percent of Chessie's menu. No exact date on when the change will happen was given. The restaurant is located at 200 Applebee St. in Barrington. For more information, contact the restaurant at (847) 382-5020.

No Muvico in Northbrook:

Developers of Center of the Northshore in Northbrook said Thursday they have withdrawn plans to include a 12-screen Muvico theater in their project. Muvico opened its first movie palace in the Chicago area a year ago in Rosemont. Developers had applied to change plans for a fitness center to accommodate Muvico. But with the approval process bogging down construction on the upscale, multiuse project, developers said they decided to return to their original plan.
