More of Obama's inflated claims

Sen. Barack Obama lashed out at Republicans who laughed at his claim that the country could reduce its oil consumption by 3 percent to 4 percent if drivers would make sure that their tires were properly inflated. The Republicans mocked Obama by passing out tire gauges. Obama's estimated reduction in oil savings was way off base. Less than an estimated 30 percent of the cars have low tire pressures and at most properly inflated tires would save about 3 percent on gasoline (not oil). And how will Obama enforce his edict to inflate tires. If $4-per-gallon gasoline won't cause motorists to keep their tires inflated properly will Obama's pleas do the job? But then Obama does tend to exaggerate a bit, like when he claimed he had campaigned in 57 states.
