Gov's wife gets a new job

Illinois first lady Patti Blagojevich is getting a new job.

She's expected to start work next month at a a nonprofit Chicago homeless agency that's received more than $2 million in state funds since her husband was elected governor.

The Chicago Christian Industrial League says Blagojevich will become its development director. Fundraising is among her duties.

A spokesman for Gov. Rod Blagojevich says the organization began getting state aid under previous governors.

Patti Blagojevich is also a real estate agent, and she's handled several property deals with people who have state contracts or are political supporters of the governor.
