4 shot in Chicago attempted robbery

Police say four people have been shot in an attempted jewelry store robbery on Chicago's West Side.

Chicago police spokeswoman Officer JoAnn Taylor said Wednesday that two offenders were shot and were in custody. She says two guns were recovered from the scene in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

Taylor also says two victims were shot. She says all of the gunshot victims were under treatment at area hospitals.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford told the Chicago Tribune that ambulances transported two women in serious to critical condition. Langford did not have conditions on the two other victims.
