Downstate PE teacher charged in child porn case

DECATUR -- A central Illinois physical education teacher is facing child pornography charges for allegedly possessing computer video files that include images of underage girls having sex.

Decatur School District teacher Scott M. Brown was charged Tuesday with five counts of possessing child pornography with intent to disseminate. He's scheduled to be arraigned Friday.

Decatur police say they arrested Brown at his home July 18th. He posted $2,000 bail and is out of jail.

School officials says Brown is on paid leave.

A message left Wednesday by The Associated Press at a Decatur phone listing for Brown was not returned.

Brown was girls volleyball coach at McArthur High in Decatur before resigning last year. He also taught PE at two local schools.
