Battery arrest this morning on I-290

Illinois State Police made an arrest this morning in the westbound lane of I-290, officials said.

Officials said one person was arrested for battery stemming from an incident that took place about 5:30 a.m. between Harlem and Cicero avenues.

However, police did not have any details about the incident as late as 11 a.m., except that the one person arrested remains in custody.

He added there were no serious injuries in the situation.

Because of the arrest, traffic between Cicero and Harlem avenues on I-290 were slowed to a crawl for about an hour.

Officials said the name of the people involved and specific details surrounding the incident would not be released until later Wednesday.
