Accident at the intersection of Barrington and Irving Park roads in Hanover Park at about 6:30

Police and fire crews are on the scene of an accident at the intersection of Barrington and Irving Park roads in Hanover Park at about 6:30 a.m. this morning.

Police officials said two cars colided at the intersection resulting in one injury. The injured person was transported to a local hospital with a non-life threatening injury.

The accident remains under investigation, authorities said.

The accident caused some rush hour traffic congestion, but the vehicles were pulled to the side of the road in about 20 minutes, officials said.
