Rolling Meadows alum appears on dating reality show

Rolling Meadows High School alum Christopher Gersch made his television debut Monday on the dating reality show "Date My Ex: Jo & Slade."

"It was a great time and a lot of fun," said Gersch, 26. "We stayed in a mansion in Beverly Hills and woke up every morning to a great view of Los Angeles."

Jo De La Rosa, who appeared in the first two seasons of Bravo's docu-series "The Real Housewives of Orange County," gets a second chance at love with help from her ex-fiancé Slade Smiley in "Date My Ex: Jo & Slade." The series follows De La Rosa as she leaves Orange County and looks for love in Los Angeles.

In each episode, De La Rosa goes on dates that have been set up by her close friends. Following the dates with De La Rosa, Smiley grills the guys and voices his opinions. De La Rosa chooses one suitor from each episode to pass to the next round - in the end, whittling the choices down to one guy.

Gersch found out about the show when he was approached by a casting agent in Chicago. After an interview he was flown to Los Angeles.

"My roommates and I thought they're just goofing around but then I figured I'm single why not?" Gersch said.

Gersch graduated from Rolling Meadows High School in 2000 and from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2004. He lives in Chicago and is a manager at a hedge fund.

Sticking to reality television's sacred oath, Gersch can't say how he did on "Date My Ex," but he did say he'd be on "more than one episode."

Gersch also said he was still single.

"Date my Ex" is on at 9 p.m. on Mondays.
