Fire's furious finish sinks Revolution

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - Gonzalo Segares and Wilman Conde scored in the final 10 minutes to lead the Chicago Fire to a 2-1 win over the New England Revolution on Saturday night.

The goals came after New England (10-5-3) was forced to play short-handed for the final 15 minutes following a red card for midfielder Shalrie Joseph, who interfered with a throw-in by the Fire's Cuauhtemoc Blanco.

New England took the lead three minutes in after the Revolution's Taylor Twellman headed in a corner kick by Mauricio Castro. Twellman's first goal of the season came in his first start.

Segares tied the score for the Fire (7-5-5) in the 81st minute on a 35-yard shot that glanced off the hands of New England goalkeeper Matt Reis.

Then defender Conde put the Fire ahead in the 86th minute with his first career goal. He knocked in a loose ball after Reis made an initial stop on a drive by Tomasz Frankowski.

New England, which defeated the Fire 1-0 in the Eastern Conference final in November, has dropped three games against the Fire this season.
