Jet lands safely after reporting problems
An American Airlines jet that had reported hydraulic problems landed safely Saturday night at O'Hare International Airport, officials said.
The plane, Flight 336 from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport, was a McDonald Douglas MD-80 with 129 people aboard, officials said.
It was initially scheduled to land about 7:10 p.m. but touched down about 9:23 p.m., according to American's Web site. It had departed about a half-hour late, the Web site indicated.
The flight crew reported a hydraulic problem before the plane landed, an O'Hare spokeswoman said late Saturday. No other details were available about the problem.
An American spokesman could not be reached Saturday night.
