A third airport makes most sense

Mayor Daley's addition of a runway at O'Hare International Airport could turn into a white elephant if there is an airport built in Will County.

Some think both these projects are a bad idea. I have a suggestion. Build the third airport in Peotone. Scratch the runway at O'Hare. Use the Will County airport for commercial traffic only (FedEx, Air Express, all air traffic that carry freight and other goods).

There are only benefits to this plan:

Less congestion for travelers to O'Hare.

No need for a new runway.

The city of Chicago saves the taxpayers' money.

Will County has a needed airport and the jobs that go with commercial traffic. The Peotone airport is located where freight and cargo can be distributed easily to all locations in the Midwest and beyond.

I know this approach can use refinement, but it's a start and a win-win situation if politics would be taken out of the game.
