Chicago Botanic Garden
• The Carillon Concert Series continues 7 p.m. Mondays through Aug. 25.
• A Kite Festival with stunt kite fliers by the Chicago Fire Kite Team and the Kite Society of Wisconsin & Illinois is from 11 a.m. 5 p.m. today.
• The Gardeners of the North Shore Show with more than 500 entries of anything a home gardener can grow is from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today.
• The "Grapes and Hops" beer and wine tasting is from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. Cost is $10 and visitors must be 21 or older to attend. Free for designated drivers.
• The Mid-America Bonsai Show and Sale is this weekend. The sale hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day, while the show hours are noon to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Aug. 17. Visit midwestbonsai.org for more information.
