Is Obama a foreign policy expert now?

So merely traveling overseas now qualifies as adding to one's foreign policy experience?

As a 17-year-old stumbling from one German beer garden to another, it never occurred to me I was setting my sights too low.

I was charming, told stories the locals loved and reveled in the naive notion it was possible to be a citizen of the world. I was running for president and didn't even know it!

If anyone doubts the media is completely in the tank for our homegrown empty suit revisit the Heralds' coverage. The paper ran an AP story under a photo of adoring crowds (not unheard of in Germany, you know) and the first line of the story was "If only they could vote." Well, thank God, they can't.

And a slim majority of Americans can still think. If members of the Fourth Estate can't figure out why the business of news is in such dire straits, then they qualify as that almost majority that can't.
