Congress ignores the energy crisis
The members of the current United States Congress have once again proved that their national approval rating is justly earned and deserved.
Having reached the lowest rating ever, this "august" body abdicated its duty to the country and congressmen left their post to spend a few weeks to fundraise for the upcoming election in the fall instead of staying put and reaching a conclusion, any conclusion, to the one issue that both affects and trumps all of the other issues facing the country and the economy: the energy crisis.
After creating the carnival atmosphere at the Congressional hearings that placed the oil executives on public trial in an effort to fix blame on somebody, and with no public oversight group to haul them up in front of the cameras to expose their complicity in furthering the crisis, our congressmen left for "vacation" leaving the energy crisis unsolved.
This clearly shows that the Democratic-led Congress, headed in the Senate by Harry Reid and in the House by Nancy Pelosi, is more concerned with winning the election in the fall by maintaining a crisis situation in energy and the economy than in stepping forward and solving the current problems facing the country with this Congress.
All of the members of Congress should be ashamed of their opportunistic cowardice and the president should call for an emergency session of Congress to not end until the representatives of the people come up with a solution.
