FBI searching for Villa Park bank robbery suspect

Authorities are continuing to search for a man who robbed a Villa Park bank.

The suspect entered Inland Bank, 305 W. St. Charles Road, about 9:45 a.m. Wednesday and handed a note to a handed a teller a note.

"He implied he had a weapon in the note, but none was seen," FBI spokeswoman Cynthia Yates said.

The suspect was described as being 6-feet-tall, in his mid-20s with a thin to medium build. He was wearing a baseball cap and a white, long sleeved T-shirt, FBI spokeswoman Cynthia Yates said.

The thief escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash after robbing Inland Bank, at 305 W. St. Charles Road, authorities said.

The robber entered the bank at about 9:45 a.m. and handed a teller a note, Yates said.

There were no injuries.

Dye pack was not used, and the robber fled on foot, officials said.

The number of people at the bank at the time of the robbery was not available, Yates said.

Villa Park police and the FBI are investigating. If anyone has information about the heist, they're encouraged to call Villa Park detectives at (630) 834-7447.
