Public involvement reduces corruption
Regarding the editorial, "Why can't we debate with civility?" (July 9):
I'd like to thank the editors for printing my letters. I have received valuable feedback and a better understanding of my community.
Letter writing is a good first step. Also available are Freedom of Information Acts from village hall and if, like myself, you are not a law expert, then send your concerns to the state's attorney or the attorney general's offices.
I agree when the public is strongly engaged in the government's business, governments are better run and suffer less corruption.
