Kane County
• A brown 1975 Harley Davidson with leather saddle bags and stainless fenders valued at $9,000 was stolen between July 30 or July 31 from Lincoln Avenue.
•A window pane on the school house at Max McGraw Wildlife Preserve in East Dundee was broken July 29 or July 30. The damage was $50.
• About $23,000 in cash was reported stolen Friday from a residence at 12N701 Route 47, Plato Township. The burglary is believed to have taken place sometime after July 30, while the property owner was away, according to a police report. The resident also told police that several jewelry drawers, filing cabinets and desks had been ransacked.
• Cesar R. Valdes-Cortes, 31, of 121 San Juan Road, Carpentersville, was arrested at 7:27 a.m. Monday and charged with felony possession of a fraudulent identification card near Plank and Lawrence roads, Burlington Township, police said. Valdes-Cortes also was arrested on warrants for charges of obstructing justice, driving while license suspended and driving while license revoked, police said.
St. Charles
• A 30GB iPod classic was stolen from an SUV July 25 at Charlestowne Mall.
• Laruen E. Hoyne, 24, of 40W969 Kings Mill Road in St. Charles, was arrested on July 10 for selling beer to a 19-year-old civilian special agent while working as a bartender at Chord on Blues.
