Stop divisiveness and get work done
While I can understand why the supporters of Al Gore in 2000 were disappointed by his close loss in the presidential election and were further frustrated in 2004 when their party chose an extremely weak radical presidential candidate, John Kerry, in 2004, isn't eight years a little long to carry a grudge?
Hey, I have voted for losers too. And I got over it.
While they love to focus on everything negative, they fail to recognize the positive things their party has attained, perhaps because they are embarrassed that despite having a majority in Congress and despite all their promises on what they were going to do when they became the majority, the Congress has become more divided, more ineffective.
Their only major accomplishment has been to attain the lowest approval level in history at a whopping nine percent. While Bush's ratings are pathetic, he looks like a hero compared to the ratings of the Congress.
In this time of record gas prices, Congress chose to adjourn rather than address this critical issue, that they have been avoiding for at least 20 years.
They finally addressed the issue of toxic toys shipped from China but it took them well over a year to do this.
Is this what anyone thinks is prompt and effective responses to the issues of our nation? I think not.
It is time that we the voters demand more of our representatives to our county, state and national government.
Drop the grudge, bury the hatchet, cut the divisiveness and start getting the job done or we will elect someone else who will do what we elected them to do. Pretty simple and makes sense.
