What Olympics sports are on where and when?
Here's a quick scan of NBC's broadcast, cable and Internet outlets and what they'll specialize in and when.
NBC WMAQ Channel 5
The biggest events of the games will be here, live or on tape. Weekdays, it will air a morning session from 9 a.m. to noon, then prime time from 7 to 10:30 p.m., followed by a late-night session from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
MSNBC
The cable news channel will devote itself to team sports, including basketball, soccer and water polo, as well as focusing on the U.S. baseball team. It will run weekdays from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m.
CNBC
NBC's financial-oriented cable news channel will be the Olympic boxing outlet, as well as concentrating on softball, tennis, weightlifting, wrestling and badminton. It will have a weekday overnight session from 11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., then go back to the Olympics after its "Closing Bell" stock report from 4 to 7 p.m.
USA
This will be the primary home for the U.S. basketball, soccer and water polo teams, as well as the tennis, rowing and canoeing finals, with an almost around-the-clock schedule running weekdays from 1 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Oxygen
The female-friendly cable channel formerly part-owned by Oprah takes a daily look at gymnastics, as well as tennis, synchronized swimming and equestrian events, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Telemundo WINS Channel 44
Much of what appears on Channel 5 will appear here in Spanish, along with a special emphasis on soccer, beginning Aug. 7 with matches before the Games even formally begin.
Universal HD
Don't forget this high-definition cable outlet, although in past Olympics it has simply rerun the main Channel 5 coverage a day or so late.

Look for anything not on the other channels to pop up here, around-the-clock. Also, it has a search option for TV listings by sport and channel, for details on the above.
