Not happy with Obama or McCain

A few weeks ago the Daily Herald published a letter I wrote listing the reasons I would not vote for Barack Obama for president. Several readers responded by assuming that must mean I was advocating for John McCain and intended to vote for him. Not true - right now I'm not happy with either of our choices.

Is there a genuine anti-abortion Democrat who speaks the truth about taxes and economics, what social programs really cost, and doesn't grandstand with constant bashing of corporate America? I'll consider voting for him or her.

Is there likewise a Republican who has the guts to oppose (and end) needless and wasteful foreign wars, who doesn't see a threat to our "homeland security" lurking under every bed, and isn't trying to take away our civil liberties to "protect" us? I'll vote for him or her.

Any such choices out there? We're not allowed to vote for "none of the above."
