Semi crash injures driver, blocks Tri-State

Police and rescue crews have cleaned up an overturned truck that blocked the Cermack Road exit ramp on the Tri-State tollway.

The truck tipped over on the eastbound ramp of the Cermack exit from the southbound lanes of the Tri-state, officials said.

The exit was closed for about 90 minutes while towing companies were called in to remove the overturned semi, officials said.

The unnamed driver of the semi was transported to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove with minor, non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

The accident remains under investigation, police said, but no citations have been issued. However, speed most likely played a factor in the rollover, officials said.
