Drilling in coastal waters a disaster
Serious random thoughts in my mind, (and I hope yours, too). Drilling for oil in our coastal waters. RIDICULOUS! Once up and running, 10-year time frame, severe permanent damage can occur from a Category 5 Hurricane; probable damages to coast lines that depend on tourist trade-(Florida, no income tax because of tourist trade). In the 10-year time frame to develop these wells the same time frame can be used to drill for equivalent gallonage within our 49 states. (Few can probably remember the coastal damage to the New Jersey Coast from submarine attacks against tankers). Still on oil... Corn for oil is a financial disaster; cancel the program! Enemy submarines could wipe our coastal wells... what are our leaders thinking? We have not touched on refinery damage from a Category 5 hurricane! I am sure you can think of many plausible substitutes.
