Homeless man arrested in Peoria teen's death
Police in Peoria say they've arrested a homeless man in the death of an 18-year-old woman whose body was found behind a middle school.
Authorities said they charged 21-year-old Ernest Coffey of Peoria on Friday with first-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. Officials say the teenager was stabbed and strangled.
A maintenance worker doing his morning rounds Wednesday at Sterling Middle School found the body of Jessica S. Wesson, who lived with a foster mother in Peoria.
Wesson's foster mother, Gailya Watson, described her as a "young lady who was looking for love and acceptance."
